After qualifying in 1980, Rodney worked for Ernst & Young in Canada for four years. In 1985 he joined BDO Binder Hamlyn and became a partner in 1989. Following a merger with Deloitte in 1994 he continued as a partner until 1996 when he left to establish his own accountancy practice.
Rodney has extensive experience in tax planning for private clients and also acts for a number of non-profit organisations.
During his early career, Rodney had significant involvement in forensic accounting work and corporate finance transactions; and during this period he became a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Rodney is currently a lay governor of South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group and is chairman of its audit committee. His previous appointments have included: chairman of asra Housing Group, now part of PA Housing; chairman of Solihull Health Authority; non-executive director of Warwickshire Primary Care Trust; and a member of court at the University of Birmingham.
