Rodney Pitts FCA

After qualifying in 1980, Rodney worked for Ernst & Young in Canada for four years. In 1985 he joined BDO Binder Hamlyn and became a partner in 1989. Following a merger with Deloitte in 1994 he continued as a partner until 1996 when he left to establish his own accountancy practice: Rodney Pitts, Chartered Accountants. Following the firm's merger with Cooper Parry, Rodney retired on 31 December 2023.

During his later career, Rodney had extensive experience in tax planning for private clients and also acted for a number of non-profit organisations.

During his early career, Rodney had significant involvement in forensic accounting work and corporate finance transactions; and during this period he became a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

From 2013 until 2021 Rodney was a lay governor of South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group and was chairman of its audit committee. His previous appointments have included: chairman of asra Housing Group, now part of PA Housing; chairman of Solihull Health Authority; non-executive director of Warwickshire Primary Care Trust; and a member of court at the University of Birmingham.
